i’ve got car :)

Dear friends,

Thought I’d just do a lil’ update here ‘bout myself.

Physically, I’m back to normal. Emotionally, I’m stabler. Been driving short distances around home and will attempt to drive to work tomorrow. Well, I still get shivers whenever I’m travelling in the car. Guess this will take some time to heal ;)

Since the accident, I’ve got nothing but Praises & Thanksgiving to shout unto our Lord God. He has been more than good to me!

a. Police Sergeant
FINALLY (after making 3 trips to the police station) met him today to get the Investigation Result and obviously, I’m not at fault.

And surprisingly, the guy who hit me, made a police report as well (didn’t expect him to do so cause the car he was driving in was not insured & without a roadtax, risk to be compounded by the police). Just amazing, huh?

With this result & report, I can at least save my “No Claim Discount” which will amount to quite a big sum of money. This also further confirms, that it was PGK5531 who hit me; driven by a very young driver.

b. Transportation Means
Praise God, last Friday, my aunt offered me to use her car till whenever I need it. Imagine! So ya, I’ve got car :)

Also praise God for my colleagues who has offered me alternatives to commute to work. I feel so blessed & cared for!

Well, as of now, the repair on my car has already started and will take a minimum of two months to complete. It’s pretty major & the workshop guy even commented that the damage looks like I had been hit by a lorry. Haha. God’s divine protection & covering, huh?

Most important of all, I want to thank God for YOU.. in your special way, you have shown me love & comfort during this difficult time :)

Love,
May Ng

my Miracle

Tears were just rolling down my cheeks as the congregation sang “How Great is Our God” this morning. Indeed, I experienced God’s Greatness, Faithfulness, Goodness & Love in a very special way last Friday (13 October 2006) near midnight.

Was travelling home alone after mamak session with my CG members along Jalan Tun Abdul Razak (in Taman Sri Andalas, Klang), when a racing car (believed to be travelling at 150kph) hit me real hard on the back. My car went over the divider and landed on the opposite direction of the road near Klang Steak House. Heard the car sped off soon after.

Thank God I was conscious throughout the incident, could even think rationally to get out of the car asap just in case any explosion were to occur next. Hunted for my handphone which flew to under the driver’s seat, called dad (reminded him to bring along the digital camera) to come to my rescue & held on tightly to my handbag as I wait.

People (especially tow truck operators) started to crowd around my car, asked if I’m OK. Replied them and told them to trail the car which hit me but none heed my request, of course. Rojak Uncle told me he saw that it was a Waja but could not see the number plate.

Mum & Dad arrived soon after. Dad inspected my car & started making arrangement with one of the tow truck operators; the first one to arrive. Started to wail as mum hugged me. I was really mad at that guy (sorry for being sexist here, but I believed majority racers are guys :D), for destroying my car, and for running away. Worried thoughts just flooded my head.. how to go to work, how to plan for June’s wedding, even apologised to Mum & Dad for causing such inconvenience to them at this point of time, when we’re all geared up to June’s wedding.. cried even louder and was trembling too. Forgot to even thank God for preserving my life at that point of time, Father, forgive me..

Nick came over as soon as he heard the news; he called dad when he reached home and realised no one’s around (which is abnormal..). He actually saw the accident on the way home but never thought that it’d be his own sis.

My thanksgiving …

… that I’m still alive with no serious injuries except for blue black mark on my leg & a neck ache

… that it happened so near home and not faraway as I commute more than 100km to work everyday

… my car seat went down so I couldn’t see what was happening around me; less traumatic

… that my car did not hit the lamp post on the divider; God cleared the way for me, felt like I was in a bumper car when I went over the divider

… that I did not land into the big drain or worst still, in somebody’s home

… there were no oncoming cars at the opposite direction

… for family & caring friends; many who called, sms-ed, dropped by for a visit, offered & rendered help

… for strangers; Uncle Rojak, Aunty Western Food (her daughter told me the racers overtook her), Malay Aunty who came & told us a Waja with its front damaged parked near her home (dad went to check with Uncle Rojak & noted down the number plate, PGK3351) & Indian Aunty who told me that I should not be too worried about my car and that I’m safe ;)

Please continue to pray for me ..

… for a forgiving heart to the reckless dude who hit me & sped off

… for speedy recovery; physically from neck ache and emotionally from this traumatic experience

… for wisdom as I plan my next course of actions; insurance claims & for transportation means

Here’s the aftermath of the accident.
No one believed I came out of this wreck with no injuries. Amen!

a Miracle,

May Ng :)

My 2006 Doulos Memories (finally!)

Our (yours truly & line-up team's) paths crossed after service one April Sunday, exchanged numbers and the rest, they say is history. Read on.

Pre-Ship

  • Ng family home was the team’s temporary refuge for Internet connection & overnight stays.

  • Escorted team to Cyber jungle to share about Doulos ministry at CFMMU. Me, was intro-ed as super2 senior, even gave an impromptu speech. And for the first time, I was belanja-ed by missionary. Such an honour! (Was later approached to share at CF's 1st meeting, but had to turn it down cos got Doulos matters happening on the same night ..)
  • Became friends & prayer supporters to one another.
  • Shared many meals, movie & shopping experience together.
  • Connected the team to Ai Leng & Steven, our Mandarin translation experts & Oon Sin, our DIY guy for floral arrangements. Me helped with the Malay translation, Suzie & Husni chipped in to.
  • Together with No, we packed thousands of posters & flyers to be mailed to various churches in Malaysia.
  • Various rescue operations – car battery weak, cashless.
  • Kick-off-ed “Welcome Doulos Banner” project. Found a generous sponsor! Praise God!
  • Drove around PJ with Jmin & Siang as navigator to deliver tickets, brochures, flyers and posters.
  • It’s been an exciting experience, seeing my time & faith stretched to its limit :D
  • 4 YMers chicks had the honour to welcome the ship on 28 June 2006 with our pretty banners. Imagine our surprise when we saw the dark & super thin D-Way :O

During-Ship

  • The ship is here but unfortunately, the team is busier.
  • Bought “Let’s Roll” – biography as told by one of 911 victim’s wife and "Life's a Victory" - a devotional book
  • Stayed onboard for two precious nights with Ai Leng. Had a glimpse of a Douloid's normal working day at a port. Visited D's cabin, too! Busy busy ... joined in the port volunteers' devotion, they're a dedicated lot. *respect* Upon checking out, had a crazy lunch with the line-up guys & later in the evening, shopping at Taiping Road & had lut2 supper.

  • Delivered Jmin’s luggages & visited ship with Pan & Mtze, invited for lunch onboard by Jmin.
  • Attended Youth Bash. Made more international friends, but casual ones. D-Way gave us a ship tour and made us stay very looong at his hotty workplace. Almost melted in my dress! *tabik* D!
  • International Night. Rushed from work with Pan, got lost. Enjoyed the dances but missed half of it to help out with t-shirts sales.
  • Mamak I-Café. Was there with Bleng. And, she was smitten by Kristian, from Faroe Island (they kill & eat whales, yucky!)
  • Captain's Dinner. Took many2 photos, even had a funny one with the Captain & Elina and boy, the meal was delicious! Felt pampered!
  • An Evening with Doulos. Collaboration with YM CGs. Had dinner with the E-day team, they’re quieter, shy probably.

  • Had the privilege to attend Doulos Church Service, speaker was Malaysian, though. Went out for lunch & salmon shopping with the line-up guys (again!). Real siao!
  • Last day. Went onboard with Ag to have lunch with Jmin & Sam. Then, shopping at DU Uptown with Jmin before meeting the rest for Chinese dinner at Overseas Restarant at Subang.
  • Last night. Urggh. Heavy heart but no tears flowed, probably cos I was too tired. Was on the final Klang journey with the team taking down every placards. It was tough on my side – dislike farewell lots. We hugged and said our goodbye. Met D-Way too.

Post-Ship

  • Miss em badly.
  • Feel semangat to continue & complete my endeavour.
  • To stay connected with my missionaries friends.
  • Lastly, errrm, I’ve got much thinking & praying to do…
